Pack Size

You stretch it, foam roll it — it loosens up. You load the movement and it's right back.

Standard recovery tools ask you to stop moving while they work. FlossPoint works while you squat, walk, push off — through the exact movement causing the problem.

Apply it. Move through the restriction. That's the treatment.

WHY THE RESTRICTION KEEPS COMING BACK

Foam rollers, massage guns, and standard compression bands work on tissue while you're still. That changes how tissue feels. It doesn't address tissue where it's actually failing — under load, during movement.

Under load, tissue layers have to slide past each other: muscle over fascia, fascia over skin. When those interfaces lose their ability to glide under demand, movement breaks down. The tissue isn't too short. It can't tolerate the sliding being asked of it.

Think of two pieces of fabric stuck together. Pressing straight down doesn't free them. Pulling them sideways while applying a little pressure does. That's the problem with standard tools — and the reason FlossPoint works differently.

HOW FLOSSPOINT WORKS

FlossPoint wraps around the restriction with three removable ShearPoints — dome-shaped grips that attach directly to the band. You then perform the movement that's limiting you: squat, push off, walk through the range.

As you move under compression, the ShearPoints generate directional shear between tissue layers while those layers are being asked to slide. The restriction gets loaded during the movement that causes it — not pressed on while you're still.

Standard tools: Compression at rest → tissue flattens → restriction unchanged under load

FlossPoint: Focal compression via ShearPoints → directional shear during movement → tissue interfaces challenged to glide under load

WHY I BUILT FLOSSPOINT

I built FlossPoint because nothing I was using with my athletes was actually solving the problem. Seven years of clinical work with collegiate and professional athletes went into it. Here's the mechanism — and what the ultrasound shows.

— Kyle Bowling, DC · Founder

WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • 1 FlossPoint band — Natural latex, 3x more durable than CTM Band
  • 3 removable ShearPoints — Denser, longer-lasting focal compression points
  • Application Guide — Digital download with protocols for common restrictions
  • 30-day guarantee — Use it under load. Not getting results? We'll help you dial it in — or refund you in full.

HOW TO USE FLOSSPOINT

Start here: Wrap where you feel the restriction — a spot that's tight or sore at rest, or one that only shows up when you load it. Hunting a load-dependent restriction? Move through the pattern first to find it. Either way, the restriction tells you where to put it.

  1. Position 1–3 ShearPoints based on muscle size and restriction area
  2. Wrap with moderate tension — full range of motion, noticeable resistance
  3. Move through loaded patterns for 2–3 minutes
  4. Remove and reassess movement under actual training load

Short-duration use only. 2–3 minutes maximum. Avoid numbness or circulation restriction.

ShearPoint placement by area:
Focused areas (foot, ankle): 1–2 ShearPoints
Mid-size regions (calf, hamstring): 2–3 ShearPoints
Large areas (quad, glute complex): All 3 ShearPoints

COMMON APPLICATIONS

Restrictions that limit movement under load — whether felt at rest or only during training:

  • Ankle dorsiflexion — squat depth, split squats
  • Calf/Achilles complex — eccentric loading, jumps, push-off
  • Knee/quad — terminal extension, step-ups
  • Hamstring — RDLs, hinge patterns
  • Hip/IT band interface — lateral movements
  • Plantar region — single-leg stability
  • Shoulder — external rotation, overhead patterns
  • Elbow/forearm — wrist extension, gripping patterns
  • Shin splints — anterior and posterior compartment

Position ShearPoints where you feel the restriction — where discomfort shows up at rest, or where movement breaks down under load.

FOR CLINICAL PRACTITIONERS

Physical therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers, and manual therapists use FlossPoint as a dynamic pin-and-stretch tool. Same mechanical principle as manual therapy — directional shear at tissue interfaces during active loading — scaled for efficiency across multiple sessions.

Practitioners position ShearPoints on patients, apply the band, and direct loaded movement for 2–3 minutes. Same assessment-driven protocol, therapist-guided application.

WHAT FLOSSPOINT IS

FlossPoint is: a tool built around movement — usable before, during, or after training. For restrictions that limit performance under load. Self-directed or practitioner-guided. Short-duration use (2–3 minutes).

FlossPoint is not: a compression sleeve for extended wear, a percussion or vibration device, a replacement for progressive loading, or a passive recovery tool.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is this the same as a regular floss band?

No. Standard floss bands create uniform circumferential compression. FlossPoint adds removable ShearPoints that create focal compression at specific tissue interfaces. When you move under that focal compression, the ShearPoints generate directional shear between tissue layers — parallel to the tissue surface, where sliding mechanics are concentrated. That's a different mechanical input and produces a different tissue response.

Will this hurt?

The compression should feel noticeable but not painful. Moderate tension is the goal — enough resistance to challenge the tissue, not enough to restrict circulation. If you feel tingling or numbness, reduce tension immediately. Most people find the sensation intense for the first few seconds and then settles.

Can I use it on my shoulder, elbow, or upper body?

Yes — the same mechanism applies anywhere tissue interfaces need to slide during movement. Common upper body applications include the posterior shoulder and rotator cuff complex, forearm extensors for lateral elbow restriction, and wrist flexors. The Application Guide covers lower extremity in detail, but the placement logic transfers directly to any region.

Does this work for plantar fasciitis?

Yes, particularly for load-dependent presentations where restriction shows up during push-off or single-leg loading. Position 1–2 ShearPoints across the midfoot and move through toe yoga, short foot activation, and single-leg balance for 2–3 minutes. Most plantar restriction also responds well to addressing the calf and Achilles first — reducing load transfer to the plantar fascia during push-off often makes the biggest difference.

How is this different from foam rolling or a massage gun?

Foam rollers and massage guns apply vertical compression — force perpendicular to the tissue surface — while you're still. They change sensation and temporarily reduce stiffness. FlossPoint applies focal compression via ShearPoints during movement, generating directional shear forces parallel to the tissue surface. That's the force that challenges tissue interfaces to restore their sliding capacity. Different mechanical input, different tissue response.

Who is FlossPoint for?

Anyone with a tightness or restriction that keeps coming back despite stretching, foam rolling, or rest. Runners with chronic calf tightness, lifters with ankle or knee restriction under load, athletes rehabbing from injury, and clinicians looking for a tool that brings loaded movement into tissue work.

What does the 30-day guarantee cover?

Use FlossPoint during actual training load. If you're not getting results, reach out before returning — most first-time friction comes down to a quick adjustment (fewer ShearPoints, more tension), and we're glad to help you dial it in. If movement still doesn't improve within 30 days, return it for a full refund. No complicated process.

30-DAY GUARANTEE

Use FlossPoint during training. Test movement under actual load.

Not getting results? Reach out before you return it — more often than not it's a small adjustment, and we'll help you dial in your setup.

Still not right within 30 days? Return it for a full refund. No complicated process.

We stand behind the mechanism.

Works the restriction through the movement that causes it.

Use this before running with plantar fasciitis!

Been dealing with plantar fasciitis for over a year now and desperate to try more answers, I bought this on-line and took a chance. I wrap it pretty tight around my foot and stretch it according to the videos I watched and it does actually make a difference in stretching before I run. I've used this after runs too but I just find more relief with my particular case in rolling my arch with something else. But I can stretch a 5-6 mile run now alot easier then I used to. Also stretched with this before a 12-mile forced road march with 45lbs on my back and though I was in pain, it helped me push through the first nine miles pain free! Separately, I have patella-femoral syndrome and I use this band before starting leg day and it seems to help my knee on those days I have to dig deep. Recommend this compression band. It's helped me in some cases, relatively inexpensive even just to give it a shot, durable, widely versatile, and worth it in my opinion.

So far so good, clarifying questions

Well, I have only used it a couple of times, but I have some clarifying questions. I have done the floss point before competing. My question is: how often can you do it? Should you do it daily, regardless of competition?

Thank you for the review! Great question, and glad you're using it before competing — that's a solid application. Short answer: it's safe to use daily. Because it's short-duration, moderate-tension work done through movement, there's no need to space sessions out the way you would with heavy training — you're not creating something that needs days to recover from.

That said, I'd use it with a purpose rather than just daily out of habit. Two best times: as prep before you load — warming up a specific area before training or competition, like you're already doing — and when you feel a specific restriction that's limiting a movement. If an area feels tight or a pattern feels off, use it. If everything feels good, you don't have to force it in.

So: daily is fine if you're targeting something, and before competition/training is a great use. Just let the restriction guide you rather than doing it mechanically every day. 2–3 minutes per area, moderate tension, and reassess the movement after. Reach out anytime if you want help dialing in a specific area.

Will sound fake but life changing

I am one of those big guys who have painfully tight calves. And have struggled with late night calf cramps for over a decade. I started with one leg 2 bands started high and went low. Left them on for 20min, then went for a mile walk. So 4 miles a day with these wrapped did this for 12 days and I started noticing I was walking on the balls of my foot again, cramps eventually stopped at night. First time in over a decade I have slept through entire night. I tried massages, massage guns everyday, stretching, and Thompson tempering rollers. All were temporary relief took substantially longer to do. I am well over a week now without cramps, walking normal, and sleeping through the night without using the Floospoint bands. I plan on buying6 more bands over the comping months, so I can wrap both calves completely and save even more time in the future.
My only complaint is that I would love to see a model that is 2-4 rows in a single band. I think there are bands wide enough to do this. It would make the entire treatment that much easier. Maybe different shape nubs once the company is in a stable place after this launch.

Injured lower back

I have an injured lower back from playing out door and arena soccer for over 20 years. I literally have to roll out of bed in the morning. I fix my coffee and put the Floss point around my lower back. By the time my coffee is finished up and ready for a painless day. It is amazing to me.

The Best

As a runner and a coach, I’ve tried just about every at home recovery modality out there. Foam rolling, scrapping, recovery guns, compression boots… they are all good as they might give you brief temporary relief. But they don’t help you get to the root of solving the problem and addressing your pain. Flosspoint (formerly CTM Band) without a doubt does and is the best recovery tool I have in my arsenal. It has been using it myself and with my athletes for the last 5+ years. Its been my go to when I need to address muscle knots, stiffness/limited mobility, return from injury, activation, etc (and is an absolute game changer for some of my middle and high school runners dealing plantar fasciitis, shin splints, Sever’s and everything else that pops up). I didn’t think Dr. Bowling could find a way to improve it, but he has. The new bands are thicker and more durable while the attachments have a softer feel and work into the soft tissue better. Can’t recommend Flosspoint enough. It just keeps getting better. You won’t be disappointed!

Good but hard to apply to own arm

I like this band, very useful. I wish there was an easier way to self apply to your arm, it basically forces you to have a friend assist. Not a big deal would improve it. Still worth the money.

Worth Every Penny

Coming from a collegiate sports background and battling various injuries throughout the years I have come to rely on regular Myofascial release and mobility practices to stay healthy and reduce pain. As a result I have used many products: message guns, floss bands etc. All of these products work but nothing has worked as well as the CTM band which combines the best of both worlds to get deep into the muscle. I am on my feet for 10 hrs+ a day and I have been battling Achilles tendonitis for months. Nothing has provided relief and promoted healing better. It’s a great tool to have in your mobility arsenal. I highly recommend.

CTM Band Works Wonders!

I just recently purchased a CTM band, specifically with the intention of using it on my tight calf muscles. It has worked extremely well on loosening up my calves. I’ve also used it on my shoulder and it’s helped relieve stiffness and a dull ache that’s bothered me for a few months. I would definitely recommend purchasing a CTM band.

Most helpful tool

I have had a mix of IT band, TFL, hip flexor issue for several months from running. Nothing works like the quad/hip flexor application! A marked difference before and after!
I couldn’t appreciate the ease of application, library of how-to’s, and success more. I am very excited to have such a tool at my disposal. It made a big difference in my recovery. Standard physical therapy got me only so far.
Thank you!

Truly helps a lot

I use this bad specifically for my calves pre-run and it really has done wonders. You can feel it working and it doesnt take long at all to use. I am stretching my calves already pre-run so adding this on isnt a problem and it adds a lot of value.
