Safety & Usage
FlossPoint is a mechanical loading tool designed for intentional, short-duration use during movement.
Like any loading tool, it requires appropriate application and understanding of contraindications.
FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES
Short Duration Only
FlossPoint is intended for 2-3 minute applications maximum.
Longer duration does not improve outcomes. It increases risk without benefit.
If movement quality doesn't change within 2-3 minutes, adjust placement or technique—don't extend duration.
Moderate Tension
Apply compression that allows full range of motion but creates noticeable resistance.
You should be able to move deliberately through the restricted pattern. If you can't move, the tension is too high.
When in doubt, use less tension.
Movement Is Required
FlossPoint is not a static compression tool. It must be used during active, controlled movement.
Wrapping the band and sitting still creates compression without directional shear. That's not the mechanism.
IMMEDIATE REMOVAL IF
Remove the band immediately if you experience:
- Numbness or tingling
- Sharp pain or discomfort
- Loss of circulation (pale or cold skin)
- Inability to move through full range
- Any sensation that doesn't feel mechanically appropriate
These are signs of excessive compression or improper application—not signs to push through.
DO NOT USE IF
FlossPoint is contraindicated in the following conditions:
- Active deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Uncontrolled hypertension
- Peripheral vascular disease
- Open wounds or active skin infections
- Recent surgery (unless cleared by your healthcare provider)
- Pregnancy (unless cleared by your healthcare provider)
- Known circulatory disorders
- Active inflammation or acute injury
If you have any medical condition that affects circulation, blood pressure, or tissue healing, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
NOT DESIGNED FOR
FlossPoint is not:
- A pain relief device
- A passive recovery tool
- A replacement for medical treatment or rehabilitation
- Intended for prolonged or overnight use
- Designed to be left on while training or competing
It is a loading tool for addressing tissue restrictions under movement. Use it accordingly.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Wrap Tension
Start with 50% tension (moderate stretch on the band). You should feel compression without restriction of movement or circulation.
If movement quality doesn't improve, you can increase tension slightly—but only if full range remains possible.
More tension does not equal better results. Precision matters more than pressure.
Duration
2-3 minutes per application.
Remove the band completely between applications. Do not leave FlossPoint on for extended periods or between sets.
Frequency
FlossPoint can be used before training sessions or during warm-ups when tissue restrictions limit movement quality under load.
It is not designed for daily passive use. Apply it when mechanical restriction is present and movement quality needs to improve.
Movement Quality
Move deliberately through the restricted pattern. Control tempo. Quality of movement under compression matters more than speed or repetitions.
The goal is to challenge tissue interfaces to glide under load—not to fatigue tissue or train through discomfort.
WHEN TO STOP USING FLOSSPOINT
Stop use and reassess if:
- Movement quality doesn't improve after proper application
- Pain increases during or after use
- Tissue becomes more irritated rather than more responsive
- Symptoms persist or worsen over multiple sessions
FlossPoint addresses load tolerance at tissue interfaces. If the restriction is not a tissue tolerance problem—if it's motor control, joint limitation, or pain-related inhibition—FlossPoint won't resolve it.
Use the right tool for the right problem.
PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE
FlossPoint is designed for use by athletes, clinicians, and coaches who understand tissue mechanics and active loading principles.
If you're uncertain about application, placement, or whether FlossPoint is appropriate for your situation, consult a qualified healthcare professional or movement specialist.
This is a loading tool. It requires mechanical understanding and appropriate clinical judgment.
LATEX ALLERGY WARNING
FlossPoint is made from natural latex rubber.
Do not use if you have a known latex allergy or sensitivity.
THE PRINCIPLE
FlossPoint is built for intentional use in training and clinical environments where movement quality under load matters.
It is not a comfort tool. It is not a passive intervention.
Use it intelligently, with appropriate tension, for brief applications during controlled movement.
When in doubt, use less tension.
