Why FlossPoint Exists
I built FlossPoint because nothing I was using with my athletes was actually solving the problem.
THE PATTERN I KEPT SEEING
I'm a sports chiropractor. I founded Kentucky Sports Clinic, and I'm a Team Chiropractor for the University of Kentucky Athletics program. Most of my work is with athletes — recreational runners through Olympic medalists.
The same thing kept showing up.
An athlete has full range on the table. Normal flexibility. Nothing obvious when they're relaxed. Then they load a squat, a lunge, an RDL — and the restriction is right there. Exactly where training demands it not to be.
Stretch it, foam roll it, hit it with a massage gun. It loosens up. Load the movement again and it's back.
If it were a length problem, that wouldn't happen. The tissue clearly has the range.
IT'S NOT A LENGTH PROBLEM
Tissue layers are designed to slide past each other during movement — muscle over fascia, fascia over skin. When those interfaces lose the ability to glide under load, movement breaks down, even when static range looks fine.
It's not that the tissue is too short. It can't tolerate the sliding being asked of it.
That reframe changes what actually helps.
WHAT THE ULTRASOUND SHOWED
I started using musculoskeletal ultrasound to image soft tissue during movement — not at rest, but under load.
Foam rollers, massage guns, and standard compression bands all apply vertical compression: force straight down into the tissue, while you're still. On ultrasound, you can see it. The layers flatten together. Pressure and sensation change.
But the interfaces never get challenged to glide. They just get compressed.
What those surfaces respond to is shear — force parallel to the tissue, applied during the movement itself, while the layers are being asked to slide. Nothing on the market was creating it.
SO I BUILT ONE THAT DOES
In 2019 I developed the CTM Band — a compression band with removable contact points that generate directional shear at tissue interfaces during movement. The premise was simple: if the restriction only exists under load, address it under load.
Over the next five years, 5,600+ athletes and clinicians put it to work. The mechanism held up.
FlossPoint is the refinement of it. Higher-tension band. Denser, textured ShearPoints that hold their shape and grip through heavy use. Same mechanism — better execution.
Seven years of clinical work with collegiate and professional athletes went into this.
WHO IT'S FOR
Athletes, coaches, and clinicians who want to address restriction where it actually exists — during loaded movement, not on a table.
If you have a restriction that shows up during training and disappears when you stop, this is built for that.
If you're looking for post-workout comfort or passive recovery, it's not the right tool. There are better options for that, and I'd rather tell you than sell you.
