Why FlossPoint Exists
Built from 7 years of clinical work. Refined through real-world use with athletes from recreational runners to Olympic champions.
THE PATTERN I KEPT SEEING
I'm the founder of Kentucky Sports Clinic and Team Chiropractor for The University of Kentucky athletic program. I've worked with athletes at every level — recreational runners, collegiate All-Americans and champions, Olympic gold medalists and world record holders.
Over and over, I saw the same thing: an athlete has full range of motion on the table. Normal flexibility. No obvious restriction when they're relaxed.
But the moment they load a squat, a lunge, an RDL — the restriction is there. Exactly where training demands it not to be.
Foam rolling didn't fix it. Stretching didn't fix it. Standard compression bands helped temporarily, but nothing held under load.
The tools available were solving the wrong problem. They addressed tissue at rest. The restriction lived during movement.
WHAT ULTRASOUND SHOWED ME
I started using musculoskeletal ultrasound to image soft tissue during movement — not just at rest, but under load. What I saw confirmed what I suspected.
Standard compression tools flatten tissue layers together. They create pressure and sensation. But the tissue interfaces — the places where muscle slides against fascia, fascia against skin — don't get challenged to glide. They just get compressed.
The restrictions that showed up under load weren't flexibility problems. They were sliding surface problems. And nothing on the market was addressing that directly.
BUILDING THE SOLUTION
In 2019, I developed the CTM Band — a compression band with removable contact points that create directional shear at tissue interfaces during movement. The idea was simple: if the restriction only exists under load, address it under load.
Over the next five years, 5,600+ athletes and clinicians used it. The mechanism worked. The materials weren't durable enough for the volume of clinical and training use it was seeing.
FlossPoint is the refinement. Higher-tension band. Denser, textured ShearPoints. Same mechanism — more reliable execution.
WHO IT'S FOR
FlossPoint is for athletes, coaches, and clinicians who want to address restrictions where they actually exist — during loaded movement, not on a table.
If you have a restriction that shows up during training but disappears when you stop, FlossPoint is built for that.
If you're looking for post-workout comfort or passive recovery, it's not the right tool.
